This lily sports large showy flowers of perfect form in a smoky golden orange with a bright greeny yellow frosted throat and papillae leading to faint purple spots and deep contrasting brushmarks. Dark stems and pollen compliment the flowers well, which bloom in mid July on 1.2 M tall stems. Rus indicated it was one of his favourites and had already named this variety as Big Ben but this name was already taken by a registered lily. A hybrid derived from open pollinated seed from the Fellner hybrid Smokie, according to his notes.
