Bruno asiatic lily
Bruno asiatic lily

This asiatic tetraploid comes from Terry Willoughby, bred right here in Alberta. Terry named this lily after his friend, the late Herbert 'Bruno' Sunley, who bred Bold Knight which is a lily parent to Bruno.

This lily is as strong and sturdy as it's name suggests. Foliage has a red tinge, stems are always robust with numerous carmine red flowers spotted generously in a ring around the throat area of the flower. Slightly ruffled petal edges enhance the charm of this lily and photos cannot do it justice. It is surely a long lived lily bred especially for the garden. Stems have reached 1.2 M in height and blooms on average mid to late July.
