A lily native to Japan, this species lily performs well as a garden lily in our Canadian climate, with fabulous 1 - 1.6 M tall stems presenting a glorious inflorescence, featuring bright yellow pendant (down facing) flowers spotted heavily in dark purple. Dislikes wet soil, plant in well drained, humus rich soil for sure success. This species lily blooms late July to mid August, depending on warmth of the summer.
