In The Zone Lily
In The Zone asiatic lily

Ooh la la….Jim definitely landed this 'in the zone' when he chose to create a cross with the ever-popular black-red colouring didn't he? Crossed with Sungod and some hardy Red Knight hybrids, it has the strength of the Knights and the colouring of Sungod. My experience tells me it also dislikes dry soil and loves its fertilizer, just as Sungod does. In central Alberta on the wide-open prairie, it grows an average 1.2 M tall and blooms in mid to late July. Blooms are deep black-red or purplish-black, reminiscent of Saskatoon purple and oh so glossy you will be amazed. It has been awarded the Canadian Prairie Lily Society’s Herbert E. Sunley Founding President’s Hybridizers’ Award for the best lily seedling in 2008.
